Milwaukee, WI – A Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 6 a.m. Saturday for east central and southeast Wisconsin, where 6 to 10 inches of snow are expected through early Sunday. The National Weather Service says the storm will significantly impact communities including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, West Bend, Cedarburg, Grafton, and Beaver Dam.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, snow will begin mid-morning Saturday and intensify through the afternoon and evening. The heaviest snowfall is expected Saturday afternoon, creating rapidly deteriorating road conditions across major highways including I-41, I-43, I-94, US-45, WI-28 and WI-33.
The warning covers Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, and Milwaukee counties. Forecasters warn that visibility may drop quickly during heavy bursts of snow, and untreated roads could become snow-covered and slippery throughout Saturday night.
Residents across the Milwaukee metro and surrounding counties are urged to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm’s peak. Those who must drive should keep emergency supplies—such as water, food, and a flashlight—inside their vehicles and allow extra time for travel.
Snow totals are expected to reach widespread 6–10 inch amounts across the region, with locally higher totals possible in stronger bands. Hazardous conditions may continue into early Sunday as temperatures remain below freezing.
