Milwaukee, WI – A quick burst of snow could lead to minor travel issues across parts of east-central Wisconsin early Monday morning, particularly in Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, snow is expected to begin around 1 a.m. Monday, peaking between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m., and tapering off by 1 p.m. The heaviest amounts are forecast for areas northeast of Milwaukee, with a 54% chance of more than 1 inch of accumulation in Sheboygan and 48% in Fond du Lac. Slushy conditions are most likely during the morning commute.
Much of southeastern Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Racine, and Waukesha, will see lighter snow chances with minor accumulations mainly on grassy surfaces. Commuters are urged to plan ahead as roads may briefly become slick, especially in colder low-lying areas or untreated roads.
Snow will start wet and slushy before gradually drying out as the system moves eastward. Areas like Janesville and Monroe are expected to receive little or no snow, with less than a 1% accumulation chance.
Drivers should reduce speed, allow extra travel time, and monitor local advisories. This snow event is expected to be brief but could still impact Monday morning routines across affected counties.
