Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Scattered thunderstorms are expected to roll into southern Wisconsin Friday afternoon and evening, bringing the potential for lightning and heavy downpours as storm chances steadily rise from south to north.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, rain and storm chances will ramp up across cities like Kenosha, Janesville, and Milwaukee beginning Friday afternoon, peaking overnight and continuing through Saturday. While severe weather is not anticipated, forecasters warn that any storms could produce localized heavy rain and frequent lightning.
Precipitation chances jump to 50–60% overnight for areas south of Madison, with northern areas such as Sheboygan and Fond du Lac seeing increased risks by Saturday morning. Cities along the I-94 corridor could see scattered rain during peak commute hours, especially in the early morning on Saturday.
While no widespread flooding or hail is expected, residents are urged to avoid outdoor plans during periods of active storms and stay weather-aware through the weekend. Be sure to check local radar and keep devices charged in case of brief outages from lightning.
Storm chances taper off by Sunday afternoon, but isolated showers may linger.
