Milwaukee, WI – Snowfall across Wisconsin is winding down overnight, with accumulations lower than initially expected, according to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee. Snow is forecasted to taper off from northwest to southeast, with final flurries ending in the Milwaukee and Kenosha areas between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals have been adjusted based on current trends, with most areas seeing between 1 to 3 inches, while some southern regions will receive less than an inch. Snowfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour remain possible in northern parts of the state.
Temperatures will hover between 25°F and 31°F during the Thursday morning commute, but warming throughout the day will lead to melting snow. Residents should expect slushy roads during the morning rush hour, followed by improving conditions as temperatures climb above freezing.
Travelers are advised to use caution, especially during the early morning hours. The warming trend is expected to continue into the weekend, further reducing snow accumulation impacts.
