Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee Police arrested seven youths overnight after they were caught attempting to steal a vehicle. The arrests occurred as police intensified patrols ahead of Labor Day weekend. The suspects, ranging in age from 13 to 17 years old, were already in a stolen vehicle when apprehended.

According to Chief Jeffrey Norman, the teens had firearms and fired at a security guard who tried to stop them. Many of the arrested youths had previous arrests for similar crimes. They weren’t even old enough to have driver’s licenses. Chief Norman expressed concern over the recent spike in reckless behavior among the city’s youth, urging the community to intervene.

Police noted that the crime rates in Milwaukee have been declining, yet incidents like this raise alarms. “What have their parents done to address this behavior?” Norman asked, urging parents, community leaders, and organizations to step up efforts in guiding these youths away from criminal activities.

With the Labor Day weekend approaching, Milwaukee police are ramping up efforts to ensure public safety. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
