Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee County detectives arrested three teens in connection with a fatal shooting at Carver Park’s basketball court.
Jaylan Powell, 18, was found dead early Friday morning near the court. Deputies reported Powell suffered four gunshot wounds.
Detectives identified the suspects as a 17-year-old male and two 15-year-old males, all Milwaukee residents. They were taken into custody Tuesday. According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, criminal charges will be filed in the coming days.
The shooting shocked the local basketball community, where Carver Park’s court serves as a gathering spot. Residents expressed concern about escalating violence. Authorities have not disclosed the motive behind the incident.
