Milwaukee, WI – A blast of Arctic air will sweep across Wisconsin later Wednesday, bringing dangerous wind chills and sharply colder temperatures overnight, according to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan.
Forecasters say temperatures will drop steadily this afternoon as a cold front moves through the region. By late tonight, wind chills could plunge between -10° and -20°, especially in rural and open areas. Actual overnight lows are forecast between -7° and 3°.
Thursday will remain bitterly cold, with highs only reaching the low to mid-teens and morning wind chills ranging from -5° to -15°. The NWS says the below-normal temperatures will persist into the weekend, though a slight chance of light snow is possible Friday.
Residents are urged to limit outdoor exposure, dress in layers, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets during the coldest hours.
