Mill Creek, Washington – A suspect was arrested after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop and hiding in dense woods early Wednesday morning.
According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 2:20 a.m. in the 900 block of 164th Street SE when a driver fled from Mill Creek Police during a traffic stop. Authorities said the driver was being stopped for probable cause related to eluding and obstruction.
Investigators said the suspect drove down a dead-end road, crashed into a wooded area, and fled on foot.
Deputy Byrd and K-9 Dico responded and initiated a track through thick brush, blackberry bushes, thorny vegetation, and heavy foliage. The pursuit crossed a small creek and moved uphill through dense terrain. Officials said visibility was significantly limited due to nighttime conditions.
A Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office drone operator also responded to assist. The drone reportedly located the suspect attempting to hide near the creek.
Deputies made contact shortly afterward, and the suspect surrendered without incident. No injuries were reported.
Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name or formal charges.
The early morning pursuit may have caused brief concern for nearby residents and commuters in the area.
