Quad Cities, IA/IL – A winter weather advisory is in effect today for areas north of Highway 30 in Iowa and Illinois, where 1 to 3 inches of wet, slushy snow could create hazardous travel conditions. The National Weather Service warns of reduced visibility and snow-covered roads, especially impacting the morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service, southeastern Wisconsin is also expected to receive 1 to 3 inches of slushy snow, mainly along and south of I-94. In northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana, a rain/snow mix will occur, with heavier snowfall possible in a narrow corridor between I-88 and the Illinois-Wisconsin state line.
Meanwhile, parts of central and southeastern Missouri face an increased fire risk due to dry conditions, gusty winds, and low humidity levels.
No additional hazardous weather is expected across the region through early next week. Travelers are advised to check local forecasts and road conditions before heading out.
