Indianapolis, IN – Midwest residents should prepare to set their clocks back this Sunday, marking the end of Daylight Saving Time. The time shift will take place at 2 a.m. local time, giving most residents an extra hour of sleep. As clocks roll back, officials are urging the public to also test smoke alarms and replace batteries to ensure home safety.

According to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, checking smoke alarms during the time change can significantly reduce home fire risks. Residents are also advised to review fire escape plans and make sure all alarms are functioning properly.
