Ice accumulations could reach 0.2 to 0.3 inches in many areas, with localized higher amounts. Gusty winds of up to 30 mph could lead to power outages as ice weighs down tree branches and utility lines.
Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly, especially on untreated roads and bridges. Residents in affected areas are strongly advised to avoid travel during the storm. Officials recommend preparing emergency kits with food, water, flashlights, and warm clothing in case of power outages or travel disruptions.
Temperatures will rise above freezing Saturday afternoon, allowing for gradual melting in southern areas. However, northern regions may remain at risk of icy conditions through the evening.
