Davenport, Iowa – Heat and humidity are clinging to the Quad Cities today, with highs pushing 93°F and only slight relief expected until midweek storms break the pattern.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, Tuesday brings partly cloudy skies and oppressive humidity with isolated storm potential late tonight. Overnight lows will remain muggy in the low to mid-70s, and scattered nighttime thunderstorms may bring brief downpours.
A shift begins Wednesday as less humid air pushes into eastern Iowa and western Illinois. Highs will still reach the low 80s, but storm chances continue during the day. By Thursday, the region sees a noticeable drop in humidity and more seasonal highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Cities including Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, and Bettendorf will benefit from this midweek transition, with cooler nights in the 50s and pleasant afternoons through Friday. Storms may cause isolated power disruptions or minor travel delays tonight—residents are urged to charge devices and avoid outdoor plans after dark.
More updates are expected as storm chances develop tonight. Cooler, drier weather is forecast to last through the end of the week.
