Columbia, SC – After a cold morning with many areas starting in the 30s, clouds will increase across the Midlands and CSRA today as a fast-moving storm system approaches, according to the National Weather Service in Columbia.

Forecasters say showers will develop this afternoon, with a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the mix. The highest rain chances—between 50% and 60%—are expected across the Eastern Midlands, including Sumter, Manning, and Camden, where precipitation could linger into early Monday morning.

Western parts of the Midlands and CSRA will see lower chances of rain, around 20% to 30%, with dry conditions likely returning overnight. No severe weather is anticipated, but brief downpours and gusty winds are possible with any stronger cells.

Temperatures will remain cool but seasonable, climbing into the mid-50s to low 60s this afternoon before dropping back into the 30s and 40s overnight.

Dry and sunny conditions are expected to return Monday as high pressure builds back into the region.
