Columbia, South Carolina – Clouds will increase across the Midlands and Central Savannah River Area on Friday as the next storm system approaches, bringing rain late tonight into Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service Columbia, Friday will be warmer, with high temperatures ranging from 61 to 65 degrees. Conditions remain dry through most of the day, though cloud cover will steadily thicken ahead of the incoming system.

Rain is expected to develop late Friday night and continue through much of Saturday. Forecasters say rain is likely across the region, with the chance for a few thunderstorms mainly across the southern Midlands and the CSRA.

Saturday highs are forecast to range from 50 to 65 degrees, depending on cloud cover and rainfall. While periods of rain may be steady at times, no severe weather or flooding concerns were indicated in the forecast.

By Sunday, conditions improve as drier air moves into the area. The National Weather Service expects mostly sunny skies Sunday, with highs between 54 and 60 degrees, providing a quieter end to the weekend.

Drivers may encounter wet roads late tonight and Saturday, especially during heavier showers. Residents with weekend travel or outdoor plans are encouraged to monitor updates as timing and rainfall coverage become clearer.

This weather pattern reflects a brief active stretch before calmer and cooler conditions return for most areas by Sunday.
