Coleman, MI – A Lansing man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly breaking into a home in Warren Township, where residents reportedly detained him until deputies arrived, according to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 12:16 a.m. on October 12, 2025, after a report of a home invasion in progress. Sheriff’s officials said a 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman from Coleman awoke to find an intruder inside their bedroom. The male homeowner was able to detain the suspect in the garage while awaiting deputies’ arrival.

Authorities identified the suspect as Nicholas Premo, who was lodged in the Midland County Jail following his arrest. Investigators said Premo is from Lansing.

According to the sheriff’s office, Premo was arraigned Monday, October 13, 2025, in the 75th District Court on multiple charges, including Home Invasion 1st Degree, Breaking and Entering with Intent, Possession of Burglar’s Tools, Larceny in a Building, and Malicious Destruction of Property.

He remains held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond.

Sheriff Scott Holzinger reminded residents that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
