According to Sheriff Scott Holzinger, preliminary findings show the 78-year-old man, identified as Daniel Graiver, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala westbound on East Monroe Road when he entered the intersection and was struck by a northbound 2026 Chevrolet Traverse. The Traverse was driven by a 37-year-old Mills Township woman.
Authorities said Graiver died at the scene and was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center by EMS. The female driver was also taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Toxicology tests are pending to determine if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Once complete, the report will be submitted to the Midland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
