Nashville, TN – Nashville is set to bake under its hottest conditions of the summer Friday, with heat index values expected to climb as high as 105°F. Temperatures will push near 97°F, making outdoor activities hazardous during the afternoon and early evening hours.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy morning fog will give way to mostly sunny skies Friday, allowing temperatures to rise rapidly. Calm winds offer little relief, and prolonged time outdoors could increase risks for heat exhaustion or heat stroke, especially for those without adequate shade or hydration.

Residents in Davidson County and surrounding Middle Tennessee should limit strenuous activity between noon and 6 p.m., wear light-colored clothing, and drink plenty of water. Vulnerable populations, including children and older adults, are advised to remain indoors during peak heat.

The extreme heat will persist into the weekend, with highs near 98°F Sunday and potentially reaching 99°F Monday. This hot stretch follows several days of oppressive humidity and will likely keep heat advisories in place into early next week.
