Nashville, Tennessee – Middle Tennessee remains under a Heat Advisory through Friday evening, with heat indices soaring into the triple digits and highs approaching 98°F in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, the advisory covers the entire mid-state region as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 90s each afternoon. Patchy morning fog is possible through Thursday, with the hottest conditions expected between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

In Nashville, residents can expect highs near 97°F on Wednesday and Thursday, with overnight lows staying humid in the low to mid-70s. Murfreesboro, Clarksville, and Columbia are also in the heat zone, with values reaching or exceeding 95°F. Thursday may bring isolated thunderstorms, which could briefly cool some spots but also add to the humidity.

Officials urge residents to limit outdoor activity during peak heat, drink water frequently, and check on vulnerable individuals. If you must be outside, take breaks in the shade and avoid strenuous work during the afternoon.

The Heat Advisory is set to expire Friday evening, but forecasters warn that additional alerts may be issued if dangerous heat continues into the weekend.
