Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, has issued a Tornado Watch (No. 635) for much of Middle and Southern Tennessee, effective until 10 p.m. CST Friday.

The watch includes 45 counties, covering major areas such as Davidson, Rutherford, Williamson, Maury, Coffee, Bedford, and Franklin Counties, extending east toward Cumberland and Overton Counties and south toward Lawrence and Giles Counties.

Forecasters warn that conditions are favorable for tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail as severe thunderstorms move across the region this evening. Residents are urged to monitor local weather alerts, keep cell phones charged, and have a safe shelter location ready in case warnings are issued.

Outdoor plans and evening travel should be reconsidered until storms have passed. Those living in mobile homes or temporary structures are advised to move to sturdy buildings immediately if warnings are issued.
