Cincinnati, Ohio – Rain will drench parts of the Ohio Valley through Tuesday morning, with the heaviest downpours targeting Middle Tennessee and western Kentucky. River levels could begin to rise early next week as saturated ground meets additional rainfall.
According to the National Weather Service’s Ohio River Forecast Center, rain will continue to spread across the southern basin over the next 48 hours. The highest precipitation totals are expected south of the Ohio River, especially in areas stretching from Nashville to Paducah.
While most of Ohio will remain on the northern fringe of the system, southern counties such as Adams and Scioto may see over an inch of rainfall. Minor flooding could develop along smaller rivers and creeks in Kentucky and northern Tennessee by Monday night.
Residents are advised to monitor local flood advisories, avoid driving across water-covered roads, and clear storm drains where possible. With saturated soils and more rain in the forecast, even moderate showers could trigger runoff issues.
Rain chances will taper slightly after Tuesday, but river monitoring will continue. Additional advisories may be issued if rainfall rates intensify or shift northward.
