Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee residents are being warned to brace for another round of thunderstorms today after overnight storms prompted multiple severe thunderstorm warnings.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, storms will continue through Tuesday afternoon and evening, bringing heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds across Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, and surrounding counties. Rain chances remain high, with an 80% to 100% likelihood on Wednesday before conditions begin to ease by Thursday.
The NWS noted that some areas may see downed trees or power lines from last night’s storms, and additional damage is possible today as saturated ground increases the risk of falling limbs. Temperatures will remain in the upper 70s to mid-80s through midweek, with overnight lows in the 60s.
Relief is expected by the end of the week. Forecast models show clearing skies starting Friday, with sunny conditions and cooler nights in the 50s lasting through early next week.
Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time this morning and to use caution around standing water or debris on roadways. Residents are also encouraged to report any damage from last night’s storms to local authorities.
This stretch of unsettled weather is part of a larger system moving through the Southeast, with Tennessee among the hardest hit in terms of storm activity.
