Nashville, TN — Tennessee residents can expect a calm and sunny day today as the week begins quietly with highs reaching the low 70s. Temperatures are forecast to gradually increase, with highs peaking in the low 80s by midweek, offering an ideal start to Halloween week for Middle Tennessee.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, dry and mostly sunny conditions will persist through Wednesday. South winds will bring warmer air, with temperatures expected to climb from today’s high of 73 to a high near 83 on both Tuesday and Wednesday. This unseasonably warm weather makes for excellent conditions to enjoy outdoor activities early in the week.

However, rain chances increase sharply on Thursday as a low-pressure system passes north of the area. Forecasters expect rain to begin in the afternoon and continue into Friday morning, potentially impacting travel on major routes like I-65. Rainfall totals for Middle Tennessee could reach between 0.25 to 1 inch, with the highest accumulations expected west of I-65. Residents are advised to monitor updates, as there’s a 45-80% chance of seeing over a quarter inch of rain, potentially increasing to a 65-95% likelihood for rain accumulations over half an inch.

Nashville can expect showers possibly turning to thunderstorms by Thursday night, with a 60% chance of rain into early Friday. Temperatures will remain mild, with highs around 81 on Thursday, dropping to the mid-60s at night. Friday is forecast to bring partly sunny skies and a high near 77, clearing up in time for Halloween weekend festivities.
