Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee residents should prepare for a rainy Labor Day weekend as temperatures are set to drop. The National Weather Service Nashville anticipates a frontal passage arriving by Friday, bringing cooler weather and much-needed rain to the region.

According to the NWS, this weekend’s weather will offer some relief from the summer heat, with temperatures expected to drop into the 80s by Sunday. Rain chances increase throughout the weekend, peaking at 50% on Friday and Saturday. Although the rain is welcome, it likely won’t be enough to end the current dry spell.

Residents planning outdoor activities for the holiday should be aware of potential thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening. The cooler temperatures will persist into early next week, marking a shift toward autumn weather.

Middle Tennessee can expect a mix of sun and clouds on Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures still reaching the 90s. By Monday, rain chances will decrease, but the cooler trend will continue.
