Memphis, TN – The Mid-South may be enjoying a stretch of pleasant fall weather, but forecasters are watching late November closely for signs of the season’s first winter chill.
According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) outlook released October 24, 2025, the region—including Tennessee, northern Mississippi, northern Alabama, eastern Arkansas, and western Kentucky—is expected to stay warmer and mostly dry through mid-month. That means little to no snow risk early in the month, but the setup may not last.
Forecasters say cold fronts from the Midwest could dip south closer to Thanksgiving week, bringing colder temperatures, gusty winds, and even light frost across inland areas. A strong enough system could spark a mix of rain and wet flakes in higher spots of northern Tennessee or western Kentucky just before the holiday.
For now, the Mid-South remains quiet and mild, but the final week of November could bring a sharp reminder that winter is waiting just around the corner.
