Little Rock, Ark. – A surge of early-season heat is set to expand across the Mid-South, bringing summerlike warmth and mostly dry conditions just as spring break travel ramps up.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, Arkansas and Tennessee will experience temperatures running 30 to 50 percent above normal from March 24 through March 30, while precipitation trends remain near normal but limited in overall coverage. This pattern supports extended sunshine with only isolated rain chances.

Across Little Rock, Fayetteville, Memphis, and Jackson, daytime highs are expected to climb into the upper 70s and low 80s, with mornings staying mild in the 50s and 60s. Major corridors including I-40, I-30, I-55, and I-555 are expected to remain mostly dry, supporting steady travel across the region.

Drivers should prepare for warmer conditions during peak afternoon hours, which can increase fatigue on longer trips. Stay hydrated and plan ahead for breaks, especially on longer drives. Patchy morning fog may develop near rivers and low-lying areas but should clear quickly after sunrise.

For baseball fans across Arkansas and Tennessee, including those following the Cardinals, Braves, and regional teams, the opening stretch of the season will feel more like early summer, with light clothing recommended.

This warm pattern is expected to hold through late March, with only minor changes possible heading into early April.
