According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Memphis, winds will strengthen starting Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. CST and persist until 6 p.m. Wednesday. Forecasts predict sustained southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph. The advisory affects numerous counties, including those in the Memphis metro area, northern Mississippi, and eastern Arkansas.
Similarly, the NWS in Nashville has issued a wind advisory for Middle Tennessee, effective from noon Tuesday until 6 p.m. Wednesday. Winds in this region will shift westward by Wednesday, maintaining speeds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 45 mph.
The strong winds may result in scattered power outages, downed tree limbs, and hazardous driving conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects to prevent them from becoming airborne.
