Memphis, TN – Summer heat will tighten its grip on the Mid-South this week as temperatures climb into the mid-90s by Thursday, with little chance of rain after Tuesday. Highs in Memphis are expected to reach 94°F Thursday and Friday, with near-record heat possible by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, a brief window for relief comes Tuesday afternoon with only a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Beyond that, skies turn mostly sunny through the weekend, and calm northerly winds will do little to offset the rising temperatures.

Memphis residents should stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity in the afternoon, and keep pets and vulnerable individuals cool. No heat advisories are posted yet, but conditions may warrant them later in the week.
