Memphis, TN – A dramatic warm-up is underway across the Mid-South, with temperatures climbing well above normal and feeling more like late spring or early summer.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, high temperatures will reach the 80s across the region through the weekend, running 15 to 20 degrees above average. Some locations could even approach or break record highs, especially on Saturday and Sunday.
Cities across west Tennessee, north Mississippi, and east Arkansas—including Memphis, Jackson, Tupelo, and Jonesboro—are all expected to see highs in the mid-80s to upper 80s at times.
In addition to the warmth:
- Dry conditions are expected to persist through the weekend
- Plenty of sunshine will help fuel the above-normal temperatures
Relief arrives early next week, as a cooldown brings temperatures back closer to seasonal norms by Monday.
Until then, residents should prepare for an early taste of summer—staying hydrated and taking precautions if spending extended time outdoors.
