Kansas City, MO – Residents across the Kansas City region can expect a warm and breezy Sunday before a cold front moves through Monday, bringing temperatures back to more seasonable levels, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Kansas City.

The agency reports that temperatures will remain roughly 10–15 degrees above normal through the weekend, with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s on Sunday. South winds could gust up to 30 mph, especially across far eastern Kansas and western Missouri, creating slightly elevated fire danger conditions.

According to the NWS forecast, the cold front will arrive late Sunday night into Monday, dropping temperatures closer to normal by early next week. Light rain is possible during the frontal passage, but rainfall totals are expected to remain under 0.20 inches across most areas.

Communities including Maryville, Kirksville, St. Joseph, Moberly, and Kansas City should see daytime highs cooling into the upper 60s to low 70s by midweek, with overnight lows returning to the 40s.

No hazardous weather is currently expected, and mild conditions should continue through much of the week following the front’s passage.
