Harrisburg, PA – The Mid-Atlantic may be skipping an early taste of winter this year. According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC), the region—including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland—is expected to stay warmer and mostly dry through much of November, keeping early-season snow chances low ahead of Thanksgiving.
NOAA’s latest temperature outlook, issued October 24, 2025, shows above-normal temperatures dominating the region with only average or below-average precipitation. That pattern means residents from Philadelphia to Baltimore are more likely to see mild fall days than snowflakes anytime soon.
Still, forecasters caution that late-month cold fronts could briefly dip south from the Great Lakes, bringing chilly rain or a few mountaintop flurries in central Pennsylvania near Thanksgiving week. While no major systems are on the radar, the pattern can shift quickly as winter approaches.
For now, the Mid-Atlantic forecast leans toward a mild, travel-friendly Thanksgiving, though anyone hoping for an early white holiday might need to wait until December.
