Baltimore, MD – Residents across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. can expect changing skies this weekend as high pressure builds from the north while a stalled front lingers to the south and west.
According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, Saturday will bring a mix of sunshine and increasing clouds with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible across the Shenandoah Valley and Alleghenies. Elsewhere, conditions should remain dry. Temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-70s to low 80s, with highs ranging from 68 to 77 in the mountains and 74 to 83 around urban and bay areas.
On Sunday, cooler air and marine moisture will settle in. Forecasters say skies will remain partly sunny to mostly cloudy, with a chance for a light sprinkle or shower east of the Blue Ridge. Highs will trend lower, ranging from 64 to 73 in higher elevations and 69 to 78 in urban and coastal areas.
The shift to cooler, cloudier conditions may provide a brief break from the recent stretch of warm afternoons. Travelers and outdoor planners should be aware of possible pop-up showers in the mountains today and the chance for damp weather on Sunday.
