Harrisburg, Pa. – A crisp fall preview continues across Pennsylvania this week, but light rain may return Thursday as a cold front slides through the region.
According to the National Weather Service’s Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, a weak cold front is expected to cross the state from Thursday into Friday, bringing spotty showers to northern Pennsylvania and portions of upstate New York. Rainfall amounts should remain light, generally below a quarter inch, with coverage increasing by late Thursday night.
Until then, dry and pleasant conditions will dominate much of the state, with mostly sunny skies from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. Commuters across I-80 and I-81 should stay alert for patchy showers late Thursday, particularly in the northern tier counties.
While no major flooding or storm impacts are anticipated, residents should monitor local forecasts for any weekend updates, especially in counties bordering New York. Outdoor events planned through the weekend should see few disruptions outside of brief northern showers.
Mostly dry weather is expected to hold through Sunday across central and southern Pennsylvania.
