Philadelphia, PA – A few flurries and light snow showers are possible Friday across parts of southern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, but forecasters stress this will not be a significant snow event, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

A weak system passing south of the region late Friday into Friday night could bring a dusting of snow, mainly to southern Delaware and southern New Jersey, with less than 1 inch expected. Areas north of the I-95 corridor — including Philadelphia and Trenton — may see little to no accumulation.

Before that, a cold front crossing the area Thursday could trigger a few snow showers in the southern Poconos and northwest New Jersey, followed by a sharp temperature drop. Lows Thursday night will fall into the teens and 20s, with highs Friday only reaching the upper 20s to low 30s.

While travel disruptions are not anticipated, drivers should still be cautious of slick spots early Saturday morning if light snow does develop.
