Baltimore, MD – A coastal storm developing off the Southeast U.S. coast is moving north this weekend, bringing periods of rain, breezy conditions, and cooler temperatures across the Mid-Atlantic, according to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington.
The system is expected to impact Maryland, northern Virginia, and the Washington, D.C. area through Monday, producing scattered rain showers and gusty onshore winds. Highs will range from the upper 60s to low 70s on Saturday, cooling into the 50s and 60s Sunday and Monday. Overnight lows will dip into the 40s and 50s.
Forecasters say the storm will gradually move away from the region by Tuesday, with clearing skies and a return to more seasonal weather as high pressure builds in.
While no widespread flooding or severe weather is expected inland, residents near the Chesapeake Bay and tidal Potomac should monitor conditions for minor coastal flooding during periods of higher tide.
