Mount Holly, NJ – A powerful fall storm is set to impact New Jersey, Delaware, and eastern Pennsylvania on Thursday, bringing heavy rain, gusty winds, and minor coastal flooding. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly warns of region-wide effects beginning late Wednesday night and peaking through Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts may reach 45–50 mph near the Jersey Shore, including Cape May, Atlantic City, and Long Branch. Inland areas, such as Philadelphia and Trenton, could see gusts between 35–40 mph. These strong winds may cause isolated power outages and minor tree damage.

Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 2 inches are expected across much of the region, with locally higher amounts possible. The combination of rainfall and strong easterly winds may result in isolated flooding of low-lying and poor-drainage areas.

Minor coastal flooding is forecast along the Delaware Bay and New Jersey coast during Thursday afternoon and evening high tides, with water levels receding by Friday morning. A second round of strong westerly winds is anticipated Friday as the system moves offshore.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, monitor flood-prone areas, and stay alert for updated advisories.
