Boise, ID – A cold front will bring light mountain snow and gusty winds to southern and central Idaho beginning Sunday night and continuing into Monday, with the highest impacts above 5,000 feet.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, ski areas like Brundage, Bogus Basin, and Banner Summit could see 1–3 inches of fresh snow by midday Monday. Snowfall will be limited to higher elevations, with little to no accumulation in valleys or lower terrain.

The Magic Valley is expected to see peak wind gusts between 30–40 mph Monday, while most other areasβ€”including Boise, Emmett, and Ontarioβ€”may experience gusts between 20–30 mph. Blowing snow and reduced visibility could create hazardous conditions for mountain travelers, especially on Highway 21 and US-95 near McCall and Stanley.

Residents with travel plans into the mountains are urged to use caution, secure loose outdoor items, and plan for sudden changes in visibility and road surface conditions. No major valley snowfall is expected.

Cooler, breezy conditions will linger into Tuesday with another system possible midweek.
