Baltimore, MD – Residents across the Mid-Atlantic can expect a dry, fall-like weekend, with the next chance of rain not arriving until the middle of next week, according to the U.S. National Weather Service Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center.

Forecasters said Friday that the region is entering a stretch of cooler, drier weather more typical of early autumn. The Weather Prediction Center’s 72-hour precipitation outlook shows little to no rainfall across Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, and surrounding states through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, the next potential for measurable rain will likely come by midweek, around Wednesday, August 13. Until then, rivers across the Mid-Atlantic are expected to continue slowly receding after recent rainfall.

The dry spell may provide relief for weekend travelers and outdoor events, but officials caution that conditions could change if storm systems shift into the area earlier than anticipated.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts early next week for details on rainfall timing and intensity.
