Lancaster, Pa. – Minor flooding is already impacting Lancaster County Tuesday as another round of heavy rain threatens parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland with more flash flooding through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service’s Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, rainfall totals could exceed 2 inches in concentrated areas across southeastern Pennsylvania, central Maryland, and northern Virginia. Minor river flooding is ongoing in Lancaster and Chadds Ford, with moderate flooding possible if storms stall or repeat over the same location.

Urban centers such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Wilmington are under a Slight Risk for excessive rainfall today, with the highest risk zone stretching from Washington, D.C., through southern Pennsylvania. Flash flooding may impact travel along I-95 and surrounding routes, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Residents in flood-prone areas should avoid walking or driving through water-covered roads and move valuables to higher ground. Power outages and transit delays are also possible where storms hit hardest.

Rain chances continue into Wednesday, with flood advisories likely to expand if conditions worsen. Stay alert for local updates and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
