Baltimore, MD – Light to moderate rainfall continues across the Mid-Atlantic this morning, with parts of the Interior Northeast experiencing wintry precipitation. Forecasters anticipate these conditions will ease by early afternoon as the current system begins to shift.

According to the National Weather Service, a more concentrated band of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop later today ahead of a cold front stretching from the Ohio Valley to the Lower Mississippi Valley and Southern Plains. This activity may bring moderate to locally heavy rainfall, particularly across the Ohio Valley.

By Monday evening, another wave of rain is forecast to move through the Mid-Atlantic, extending into New England by Tuesday morning. Interior regions may see a wintry mix as temperatures dip. An upper-level wave will fuel additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday along the same frontal boundary from the Ohio Valley to the Southern Plains.

Travelers and residents in these regions are urged to monitor weather updates and prepare for possible localized flooding and winter weather impacts.
