Marquette, MI — Rain showers are forecast to arrive in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (U.P.) this evening, starting in the western U.P. and spreading eastward overnight. Residents and travelers should prepare for wet conditions along US-41 and other major roads, with rain continuing through Friday morning. The showers will primarily affect the eastern half of the U.P. before tapering off by Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Marquette, the heaviest showers are expected tonight and Friday morning, bringing cooler temperatures across the region. Tonight’s lows will range from 40 to 47 degrees, while Friday’s highs are expected to peak between 52 and 60 degrees. Drivers should be cautious of slick roads, especially during the morning commute.

Showers may linger into Saturday morning over parts of eastern Michigan, but dry weather is expected to return by Saturday afternoon. Highs will stay in the upper 40s to mid-50s over the weekend. On Sunday, conditions will remain mostly dry, with highs in the low 50s to upper 50s.

With cooler weather settling in, locals should plan ahead for outdoor activities, ensuring they have appropriate rain gear. The NWS advises motorists to reduce speeds on wet roads and watch for areas of reduced visibility during rain showers.
