Marquette, MI – Residents of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula should prepare for a warm to hot August weekend, with temperatures soaring and chances of storms on the horizon. The National Weather Service in Marquette has forecasted that the region will experience elevated temperatures starting today, with highs reaching between 83 and 89 degrees, particularly in the interior west of the peninsula.
According to the latest forecast, today brings a chance of storms mainly along the state line, with drier conditions expected to prevail by Friday. Highs on Friday are anticipated to hover between 81 and 91 degrees, with mostly sunny skies dominating the forecast.
Saturday will continue the trend of warm weather, with highs ranging from 79 to 88 degrees. However, there’s an increased likelihood of storms developing in the afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches. These storms are expected to linger into Sunday, with cooler temperatures ranging from 73 to 79 degrees as showers move through the area.
Looking ahead to early next week, the weather will take a significant turn, with highs dipping to the upper 60s on Monday and low 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday. These cooler conditions will provide relief after the weekend’s heat, with partly cloudy skies and no significant weather events expected.
