Marquette, MI – Snow showers and strong winds are set to impact Michigan’s Upper Peninsula Saturday as winter-like conditions continue. Forecasters warn of lake-effect snow primarily along Lake Superior and the Keweenaw Peninsula.
According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, lingering snow will shift to rain Friday but return as snow showers Saturday. Temperatures will hover between 35 and 42 degrees, with lows dipping to 23 to 32 degrees overnight. Gusty winds of 30 to 35 mph will persist across the region, with stronger gusts of up to 45 mph near Lake Superior.
Scattered snow showers will continue Sunday, with heavier precipitation expected late Sunday into Monday. Drivers should prepare for slippery, slushy roads, particularly in the morning hours when conditions are most hazardous.
