Marquette, MI – Residents in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula can expect a mild and quiet stretch of weather as September closes out, with temperatures staying comfortably in the 70s through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, Sunday will bring sunny skies and highs between 71 and 78 degrees, followed by a slightly warmer Monday where some areas could reach 80 degrees. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the 40s and 50s, keeping mornings crisp.

Forecasters say cloud cover will increase on Tuesday and Wednesday, but conditions should remain dry. Tuesday’s highs are projected between 68 and 78 degrees, while Wednesday will range from 65 to 78 degrees.

The service described the pattern as “mild, quiet, and dry,” offering residents an extended break from rain. It’s a favorable forecast for outdoor activities, yard work, and travel across the region.

Meteorologists noted that while the start of the week looks sunny, more noticeable cloud cover is likely to arrive midweek. Still, the trend of dry conditions is expected to hold.

This period of calm weather comes after recent unsettled patterns earlier in the month, giving Upper Peninsula residents a taste of early fall warmth and stability.
