Marquette, MI – Unseasonably warm weather is set to continue across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Marquette. Temperatures tonight will stay unusually mild, with lows between 63°F and 67°F, nearly matching typical daytime highs for early October.

According to NWS forecasters, breezy downslope southerly winds will develop tonight along the Lake Superior shoreline, keeping conditions warm and dry into Sunday. Sunday’s highs are expected to reach 76°F to 80°F, with sunshine early in the day followed by increasing clouds late in the afternoon.

A cold front will move in Sunday night, bringing scattered showers and possibly a few thunderstorms to the western U.P. before spreading east. Temperatures are forecast to fall into the upper 40s to mid-50s overnight as cooler air arrives behind the front.

Forecasters note that the region could experience a noticeable shift from the current warm stretch to more seasonable conditions by Monday morning.
