Gaylord, MI – Residents across northern Michigan can expect a stretch of mild and sunny weather heading into the weekend, with temperatures climbing well above seasonal averages, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Gaylord.
The agency reports that Wednesday and Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs ranging from the mid-60s to upper 70s. Overnight lows will dip into the 40s to near 50. By Friday, many locations across the region are expected to see highs in the low 70s to low 80s, with even warmer temperatures possible through Sunday.
According to the NWS, a few light showers may develop Friday night into Saturday across the far northern part of the state, but rainfall amounts are expected to remain very light. Otherwise, dry conditions will dominate the extended forecast.
“Temperatures will trend to well above normal levels into the weekend, with several areas potentially nearing or exceeding 80 degrees,” forecasters said. This comes as northern Michigan typically averages highs in the upper 50s to low 60s for early October.
Looking ahead, the warm and dry pattern is expected to continue into next week, offering residents and visitors a favorable window for outdoor activities and travel.
