An extended period of warm, sunny weather will envelop Michigan through the weekend, perfect for outdoor activities across the state. Residents of Southeast Michigan can expect temperatures to climb from the low 60s on Thursday to the mid-70s by Monday. Meanwhile, in Northern Michigan, areas west of I-75 will see unseasonably warm and breezy conditions, with highs reaching the low 70s by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Detroit, today’s high will range between 60 to 64 degrees, followed by a warming trend that brings temperatures near 68 on Friday. The pleasant stretch continues into Saturday and Sunday, with highs ranging from 68 to 73 degrees. The forecast emphasizes sunny skies and dry conditions, making it an ideal time for Michiganders to enjoy the fall foliage.

However, the NWS in Marquette has raised fire weather warnings for the Upper Peninsula due to dry conditions combined with southerly winds. With near-elevated fire risks, especially in western Upper Michigan, residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and monitor local advisories. This heightened fire risk is expected to persist through Sunday, as daytime highs in Marquette reach up to 74 degrees.

Breezy conditions will accompany the warmth throughout the state, so residents should secure any loose outdoor objects. Fall leaves may blow onto roadways, increasing the potential for slick spots, especially near highways like I-75. For those planning outdoor activities, now is the perfect time to get out and enjoy Michigan’s unseasonably warm autumn weather while staying safe.
