DETROIT, MI – A crisp, quiet dawn greets metro Detroit this Monday morning, with cool 40° air and light breezes rolling in from Lake Erie. Sunshine dominates early in the week, but gray skies and a damp chill will return by midweek as another round of fall showers takes shape across southeast Michigan.

According to the National Weather Service in White Lake, calm and sunny conditions will hold through Tuesday, with highs near 57°F. Winds will stay light from the east but begin to strengthen by Wednesday as a weak low-pressure system tracks across the Great Lakes. Clouds will thicken quickly Wednesday afternoon, and rain showers are likely by evening—especially along I-94 and I-75 corridors.

Gusty east winds up to 25 mph could make travel slower during the evening commute, and slick roads may develop as steady rain continues into Thursday. The wet pattern lingers through early Friday before a gradual drying trend begins in time for Halloween.

Thursday’s highs will struggle to reach the lower 50s, feeling damp and raw under persistent cloud cover. By Friday afternoon, showers taper and partial sun could return briefly, allowing a cooler—but manageable—Halloween setup with mid-50s readings and light winds for trick-or-treaters.

Looking further out, early November appears poised for a stronger push of colder Canadian air, with the first hints of a more wintry pattern forming. Southeast Michigan may soon join the national trend toward a chilly November ahead.
