Grand Rapids, MI – Michigan residents can expect a gusty Friday with wind speeds reaching 35 to 45 mph, especially along I-96. Today’s high will climb to the mid-30s, but the afternoon winds will make outdoor activities challenging.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, Saturday will bring increasing chances of snow showers, with accumulation remaining light. By Saturday night, temperatures will drop significantly, with lows nearing 26°F. As winds shift, gusts up to 26 mph could reduce visibility on the roadways.

Looking ahead to Sunday, residents should prepare for a sharp drop in temperatures, with highs around 13°F and snow showers likely. Accumulation is expected to stay under one inch but could create slippery conditions. Monday will be even colder, with highs near 5°F and a wind chill plunging below zero.

Travelers and commuters along I-96 and surrounding areas should use caution, particularly during periods of high winds and snow. Bitter cold conditions early next week could also lead to frostbite risk for those exposed to the elements for prolonged periods.

Stay updated on changing conditions, as hazardous weather outlooks could affect travel plans or outdoor activities. Keep emergency kits in your vehicles, dress in layers, and limit outdoor exposure when temperatures drop.
