According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, lake-effect snow showers may continue into early afternoon, especially north of I-96 and near and west of US-131. A few tenths of an inch up to 1 inch of snow is possible in favored areas. West winds gusting up to 28 mph could briefly reduce visibility.
Roads across Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties may turn slick where bursts of snow pass through. Bridges and overpasses will be the first to ice. Slow down if you encounter quick drops in visibility.

Thursday brings partial sunshine with highs near 34. A slight chance of snow showers returns after 1 p.m. Friday offers a brief spring tease, climbing to 49 under mostly sunny skies. Snowbanks will shrink quickly.
The pattern turns active again this weekend. Saturday reaches 36 with a chance of snow showers after 1 p.m. Saturday night carries another snow chance with lows near 17. Light accumulations are possible into early Sunday.
Early next week stays seasonable, with additional snow shower chances lingering into Monday and Tuesday. Longer-range trends hint at moderating temperatures building toward early March.
