According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, snow totals across southeast Michigan may range from a half inch to 2 inches, with the highest amounts toward the Saginaw Valley and Thumb. In Detroit, only light accumulation is expected, mainly on grassy or elevated surfaces. Temperatures hover in the mid-30s before gradually slipping toward 30 degrees later today. West winds gust up to 28 mph, adding a sharper edge to the air.
Drivers along I-75, I-94, and the Lodge Freeway should watch for brief visibility drops in heavier snow showers. Bridges and overpasses can cool quickly. With temperatures near freezing, isolated slick spots may develop where slush lingers.
Skies partially clear tonight with lows dipping to 19 degrees. Thursday turns mostly sunny but stays cold near 35. A stronger rebound arrives Friday as sunshine pushes highs near 50 degrees, offering a welcome spring tease.
The weekend cools again. Saturday reaches the low 40s before snow likely develops Saturday night. Sunday holds near 30 with another chance of light snow early.
